With its 17 rooms, the Restaurant and Hotel Baseltor is located in the heart of Solothurn's old town, just a few minutes' walk from the train station. Soft, subdued tones, design classics, strap floors made of oak or fir wood and modern, simple bathrooms characterize the spacious, quiet rooms. The décor harmonizes perfectly with the old town building from the 17th century, which has been used as a restaurant and hotel since 1874. Each of the 17 rooms is individual, from the floor plan to the colour scheme and furnishings, but still unmistakably Baseltor. 3 Hotellerie Suisse stars, 13 GaultMillau points and membership of Swiss Historic Hotels distinguish the Baseltor. With her cuisine, Pia Camponovo has long since made a name for herself far beyond Solothurn. At Baseltor, the chef focuses on Mediterranean dishes with an oriental touch. Their timeless creations are prepared with great love for craftsmanship and served in the restaurant, with its approximately 100 seats spread over 2 floors, terraces and courtyards.
