Schloss Schadau is a listed building from 1852 and located in the Schadau Park, directly on the shores of Lake Thun. In 2019, the castle was completely renovated and possess now nine hotel rooms, some with a wonderful lake view. You will enjoy the magnificent view over the lake to the alps from our garden terrace and the veranda. During winter, you will enjoy the modern French-Mediterranean cuisine in a warm castle atmosphere. The bar "au milieu" with a large sherry assortment completes the Schadau experience. The rooms for banquets and seminars have all lake view, some also with balcony. The "Rougemont-Saal" is the venue for your banquet for up to 70 guests. For weddings, the meadow at the lake is the perfect location for your wedding ceremony. A tower suite can be complemented with a meeting and dining room with a total of almost 100 square meters. Your private office away from home.
The Schadau Park is the recreational area in Thun. The Schadau Park is an English garden and the castle is in the middle of this unique place with panoramic lake and mountain view. In two minutes walking distance, also located in the par, is the "Thun Panorama" with the oldest round panorama painting in the world. Thun main Station and city centre is one bus stop or a 15-minutes' walk away. With the PanoramaCard Thunersee you can easily travel for free with the bus network of the city of Thun. Please note that it is not allowed to park your car directly in the Schadau park or next to the castle. Public parking (with fees) is within 3 to 5 minutes walking distance.

Schadau Castle, the «Historic Hotel of the Year 2021” offers everything for the perfect wedding. Wedding ceremony on the seaward lawn with panoramic view to Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains, aperitif in the famous English Schadau Garden and elegant dinners in the historic “Rougemont Hall”. All banquet rooms with lakeview. Couples will find the best surroundings for banquets up to 80 guests at Lake Thun. The 9 unique hotel rooms, the private shipping pier, and other hotels in walking distance complete the wedding offer. For dinners up to 24 guests, there are further rooms on the first floor with private balcony and once per month, the civil registry office marries up to 6 couples in the castle’s salons. Exclusive bookings for the castle are possible in winter.
