Intro
Since the summer of 2006, Mund has had another attraction: the Saffron Nature Trail. There are six stations with information panels along the easy walk explaining the saffron culture of Mund.
The Saffron Nature Trail starts in the centre of the village (PostBus stop «Mund Dorf»). From there, a pleasant circular trail takes you through saffron fields and meadows with beautiful views of the Rhone Valley. Six stations with information panels in German and French are provided along the easy walk to explain the saffron culture of Mund. For example, the visitors learn why the culinary wonder of saffron must be picked and processed by hand and who its mortal enemies are. Bit by bit, the panels offer details about the history, origin, culinary art, cultivation, processing, botany, and the Mund tradition of saffron.

Difficulty: easy (partly wheelchair-accessible)
