A bike tour offering fabulous views of the well-known Muotathal valley and the Schwyz basin. It includes a beautiful climb from Muotathal to Alp Wannen and super downhill stretches to the bottom of the Schwyz/Schlattli-Stoos funicular.
Description
The tour is rich in variety and begins at the lower station of the Schwyz/Schlattli-Stoos funicular. After crossing the river, the trail climbs gently to the well-known Muotathal. The Wissenwand track then leads up through attractive forests and along lush meadows to the Alp Wannen. This is embedded in the impressive mountains of Central Switzerland.
On the descent along a gravel track that follows, the panorama is ever-changing and invites you to stop every once in a while. Particularly worthwhile is a break at the Alpine cheese dairy located just a stone's throw from the bike path. It's the ideal place to relax, recover and savour the silence of the mountain world.
Those who have chosen not to end their bike ride in Stoos can begin the descent towards Nägelisgärtli Restaurant at the Morschach-Stoos cable car and return to Schlattli via Oberschönenbuch. On this stretch there are also numerous splendid view points.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
