Discover the umamiverse
Overview
Young and fresh: Denis, Robin and Manu founded their start-up business, Umami, around four years ago. They produce micro greens for catering and private kitchens. The founders show visitors around the key areas of their business. The ecosystem in Altstetten is home to a wonderful collection of plant and animal species in an aquaponic nutrient cycle in which everything is edible. The fascinating biological microcosm is modelled on nature. On a tour of the production facility, visitors experience the entire process from sowing to harvesting. Finally, you can test your taste buds in a “taste game” and try the house products. You’ll encounter things that taste sweet, sour, bitter, salty - or umami.
