Montreux Youth Hostel
At this youth hostel, you will spend the night at the foot of the Alps, directly on Lake Geneva and surrounded by vineyards. You can enjoy dining in the jazzy restaurant.
Montreux is pure inspiration. Thanks to the Mediterranean climate and friendly cosmopolitan attitude, coupled with a passion for music, Montreux is often seen as the capital of the Vaud Riviera. You can admire its colourful flowerbeds towards Vevey and on the way to Chillon Castle.
Arrival by train
Evelyn’s journey began with a picturesque journey by train to Montreux. The rattling of the rails and the passing landscape put her in the right mood for the adventure that lay ahead. On her arrival at the youth hostel, Evelyn was warmly welcomed by a friendly team. The smooth check-in made for a pleasant start to her stay.
Excursion to Glion on the funicular
Evelyn could hardly wait to take the funicular to Glion. From there, she experienced a breathtaking view over Montreux and Lake Geneva. A stroll through the picturesque surroundings rounded off this unforgettable experience. The Territet valley station is just a five-minute walk from the youth hostel. For those who stay overnight in the youth hostel, the Montreux Riviera Card and the journey to Glion are included.
Montreux and the youth hostel have not only given me breathtaking views, but also friendships that will stay in my heart forever. Sometimes you have to travel alone to find out how many wonderful people you can meet along the way.
Friendships are formed in the youth hostel
In her multi-bed room, Evelyn met Linda and Nina, who were also travelling alone. A brief conversation led to a warm acquaintanceship and the start of a new friendship. The three of them spent a few fun hours playing table football and ping pong at the youth hostel. Laughter and a competitive spirit brought them even closer together. The group made their way to the city centre together to play a round of minigolf.
Montreux Riviera
In the evening, Evelyn, Linda and Nina took a walk together along the Montreux Riviera. The illuminated lakeside promenade conjured up a magical atmosphere. Finally, they returned to the youth hostel and enjoyed a relaxing aperitif on the terrace, shared the day’s experiences with one another and made a toast to more adventures in Montreux. With a direct view of Lake Geneva, which is just a few metres away from the youth hostel.
